The southern Thai dish “Yao Ye” (
ยาวเย) is a type of salad in which deep-fried tofu and prawns are served together with blanched or raw
water spinach. The whole thing is then mixed with a sauce made from chilis, garlic, vinegar, fish sauce and palm sugar and sprinkled with crushed cashews,
peanuts, fried garlic and sometimes sesame seeds. Another speciality is that the individual ingredients are served separately and you mix the salad yourself.
