Tom Yum Goong Nam Kon

Sour and spicy prawn soup with coconut milk

“Tom Yum Goong Nam Kon” ( ต้มยำกุ้งน้ำข้น ), which is sometimes also called “Tom Yum Goong Kati” ( ต้มยำกุ้งกะทิ ), is a sour and spicy soup with prawns and coconut milk, seasoned with galangal, lemongrass, chilies, kaffir lime leaves, tamarind paste and Nam Prik Pao.

The name suffix “Nam Kon” ( น้ำข้น ) means “with thickened broth” and refers to the use of coconut milk.
