Salapao

Salapao ( ) are Thai buns or dumplings made from a soft, slightly sweet yeast dough. They are filled with various fillings of meat, seafood or vegetables and then steamed. A very popular filling is for example “Moo Daeng”.

They are the Thai variant of Chinese “Baozi” and probably came to Thailand with Chinese immigrants. Salapao are widespread throughout Thailand and are often eaten as breakfast, snack or meal in between.
