“Khao Lam” (
ข้าวหลาม) is sticky rice that is mixed with coconut milk and other ingredients such as black beans and then grilled in a
bamboo tube. The rice can be seasoned as a dessert with sugar or as a snack with salt. The name is composed of the words “Khao” for rice and “Lam” for “in
bamboo tube”. The dish can also be found under the name “Khao Lam Dtat” (
ข้าวหลามตัด).
